Professional equestrian, philanthropist, and published author, Georgina Bloomberg, is stepping up her support for wildlife and nature by joining Fauna & Flora, an international wildlife conservation charity, as a vice president.
Fauna & Flora works closely with conservation partners in almost 50 countries to save nature together. The charity’s focus is on protecting habitats, saving species from extinction, and developing sustainable livelihoods for those living closest to nature.

Georgina Bloomberg is an accomplished professional show jumping athlete and the owner of the equestrian team New York Empire. She became a professional rider at the age of 21 and has since won several competitions and awards and has represented the U.S. at international competitions.

Throughout her life, Georgina has had a passion for animal welfare and has channeled this passion into philanthropy. In addition to her new position at Fauna & Flora, Georgina serves on the Board of Directors of the Humane Society of the United States and serves as Vice President of Animal Aid USA, as well as an EQUUStar ambassador for the EQUUS Foundation. She is also on the Board of Trustees of the American Museum of Natural History. In 2006, she founded The Rider’s Closet, an initiative established to provide new and gently used riding attire to equestrians.

As Fauna & Flora’s vice president, Georgina will use her philanthropic experience to support the charity’s awareness-raising activities in the U.S. and around the world, ensuring the importance of protecting wildlife and nature is placed firmly on the global agenda.

“Ever since I was a child, I’ve had a love for animals, nature, and the great outdoors,” said Bloomberg. “Throughout my life, however, I’ve watched as our natural world has slowly degraded away, habitats have been lost, and beloved species have been pushed to the edge of extinction.
“Since becoming a mother, my drive to save nature has been even more ignited — I want my children and my children’s children to live in a world filled with open, natural spaces and wildlife,” continued Bloomberg. “To achieve this vision, change needs to happen. The work Fauna & Flora is doing to protect and restore nature across the world is truly remarkable; every day the charity is working to safeguard critical habitats and save countless species from extinction. I am enormously proud to have the opportunity to play even a small part in this incredible work.”

“Fauna & Flora is privileged to welcome Georgina Bloomberg as a vice president,” said Mark Rose, CEO, Fauna & Flora. “Our mission is to protect the diversity of life on Earth, for the survival of the planet and its people — but it’s impossible to do this without our supporters. We look forward to working with Georgina to raise awareness of biodiversity conservation and connect with new supporters in the U.S. and around the world.”
